General

What is MoneyLetter's long-term track record?

This sensible, proven mutual fund strategy has consistently delivered outstanding risk-adjusted performance for more than a decade. Review our Long Term Model Portfolio Performance.

How are the MoneyLetter Model Portfolios created/managed?
Based on this proprietary approach, funds “earn” their way into the Model Portfolios. First, hard-nosed fundamental economic analysis is used to determine the asset allocation mix that is most compatible with your risk profile and the current investment climate. Proprietary valuation and ranking techniques are then applied to our comprehensive database so that only the very best mutual funds and ETFs are selected. As a MoneyLetter subscriber, you provide the final—and most important—element: decision-making based on your risk tolerance, time horizon, tax situation, and income requirements.

If you think you could be doing better, but need some help executing these strategies, learn more about the MoneyLetter Managed Account Program by visiting Asset Strategy Advisors.

Why mutual funds and not stocks?

In a nutshell, professional management, diversification, safety, liquidity, and service. If you were to manage your own portfolio of stocks, you’d have to research, select, and monitor thousands of securities to construct a diversified portfolio of stocks. There’s an easier way. Mutual funds offer numerous advantages to individual investors, including toll-free switching, checking privileges, automatic dividend and capital gains reinvestment, and trained customer service reps.

If I subscribe to MoneyLetter, why would I subscribe to MoneyLetter Plus?

It is the exclusive home of the MoneyLetter Plus Select ETF Model Portfolio, and includes extensive coverage of the popular Exchange-Traded Funds. You’ll also find detailed coverage on the T. Rowe Price family, muni bond funds, and a focus on the funds held in the MoneyLetter model portfolios. It “fills in the gaps” between MoneyLetter issues.
